A Kill Devil Hills teen is being charged as an adult with two felony charges, one of which is first-degree murder, in connection with Thursday’s fatal shooting at Avalon Pier, according to the district attorney.

A suspect was arrested after one person died and another was injured and flown out for medical treatment in a shooting at Avalon Pier on Thursday, police said.

A person suffering from “severe burns” after a house in Manteo exploded and caught fire was airlifted to a hospital Friday afternoon, according to radio reports.

It was not immediately clear what was on fire or how it started, but it appeared that the fire did not affect any buildings or harm any people.
