MANTEO — Dare County Sheriff's Office deputies on Monday afternoon arrested Dylan Nathaniel Riggs, an 18-year-old Manteo resident, for stabbing with the intent to kill.
Riggs was charged with “assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill inflicting serious injury” and is being held at the Dare County Sheriff's Office Detention Center with no bond, according to a Dare County Sheriff's Office press release.
Riggs was booked at 3:23 p.m. for the charge, abbreviated as AWDWIKISI, which is a felony under North Carolina General Statutes.
Deputies responded to a 12:21 p.m. call from the 100 block of Etheridge Road on Roanoke Island and apprehended Riggs without incident, according to the release, which was sent around 4:15 p.m.
The Manteo Police Department assisted in the call.
“The Sheriff's Office encourages anyone with information about illegal substances or other criminal activities to contact local law enforcement,” the release said.
A Dare County Sheriff's Office spokesperson was not immediately available Monday afternoon to answer questions about the incident.
