MANTEO — A convicted sex offender who is currently incarcerated on charges of felony second-degree forcible sex offense and misdemeanor sexual battery never lived at the address he provided to authorities when he was arrested last July, according to the Colington homeowner at said address.

Michael Keith Taylor, 46, at the time of his July 28 arrest was on the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) sex offender registry for a 2015 conviction of felony indecent liberties with a 10-year-old.

Taylor pleaded guilty to two counts of felony indecent liberties with a child and a judge found him guilty of both counts on Oct. 5, 2015, court records show.

Court paperwork at the time of his arrest last year and still as of publication time lists his address in the 1200 block of Harbour View Drive in Colington Harbour.
