A Dare commissioner’s county-listed address is outside his elected district. He says his ‘primary’ is in the district.

WANCHESE — The webpage of all elected officials in Dare County lists an address for a county commissioner that is outside of the district in which he’s required to live to represent, but he said his “primary” address is within the district.
Carson Montgomery Creef was elected in 2024 to represent Dare County’s District 1, which is Roanoke Island and the mainland.
The commissioners’ webpage lists his area of residence as Wanchese. The county webpage listing all elected officials’ addresses lists Creef’s address as in the 100 block of Sir Richard W. in Kill Devil Hills—which is located on Colington Island.
Colington is part of District 2.
