STUMPY POINT — A man was fatally stabbed by a pirate sword last April in Stumpy Point, his autopsy showed. The Dare County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged a Stumpy Point man with his murder. The medical examiner marked the death as a homicide.
But no trial has taken place, and the brother of the deceased said his family is “very frustrated” that the state keeps pushing them to accept a plea deal for the accused to serve a seven-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter instead.
