KITTY HAWK — The long-awaited new Dare County license plate agency will open in Kitty Hawk on Thursday, a North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) press release announced on Tuesday afternoon.
NCDOT heads the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles (NCDMV).
The new license plate agency is located at 3809 N. Croatan Highway (U.S. Highway 158), Unit F, at the Sea Dunes Shoppes in Kitty Hawk. Its hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, except on state holidays, the release said.
This means the area will once again have the only location in the state that issues the popular numbered license plates beginning with, “OBX.”
