A judge on Monday ruled that the district attorney can withhold case information from the mother of the teen fatally shot outside Avalon Pier in Kill Devil Hills in July.

In Dare County Superior Court in Manteo, a Stumpy Point man recently pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the April 2024 fatal stabbing of a man by pirate sword.
