3 high-profile car wrecks in 3 days on Outer Banks

KILL DEVIL HILLS — Three high-profile, multi-vehicle accidents in the past three days on the Outer Banks resulted in at least six cars being towed, but no serious injuries of which Outer Banks Insider is aware.

The days around Thanksgiving typically see the most vehicle collisions statewide out of any holiday period, and this time period hasn’t begun yet.

Crashes occurring from 6 p.m. the Wednesday before Thanksgiving through midnight the Sunday after have exceeded crash numbers in the days around New Year’s, Easter, Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day and Christmas in four of the five past years, North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) data shows.
