Dare commissioners approve nearly 210% increase in school board compensation

MANTEO — The Dare County Board of Commissioners approved significant increases in compensation for county school board members during its Monday morning meeting at the Dare County Administration Building in Manteo.


Compensation for Dare County Board of Education members increased by nearly 210%, from $4,200 to $13,000 annually, and compensation for the chair increased nearly 163%, from $5,400 to $14,200 annually.
