Teenage pedestrian fatally struck in Moyock

MOYOCK — A Moyock teen died at the scene in an early-morning collision Thursday in Currituck County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
An SUV traveling south on U.S. Highway 168 near Commerce Road in Moyock “collided with a pedestrian walking in the southbound lane of travel,” a North Carolina State Highway Patrol press release issued Friday said.
The Highway Patrol identified Shailee Bachar, 18, of Moyock, as the pedestrian.
“No charges are expected for the SUV driver,” the release said.
More information was not immediately available.
