NC News Cafe at Waveriders celebrates Local News Day on April 10

NAGS HEAD — This April, communities across North Carolina will come together to celebrate the inaugural Local News Day—a national day of action highlighting the vital role of local journalism.


As part of this effort, members of the Outer Banks press corps are hosting an NC News Cafe at Waveriders in Nags Head on Friday, April 10—bringing community members and journalists together to share a cup of coffee and conversation. 


Join us to share the issues that matter most to you:


  • Meet local journalists and publishers


  • Share your perspectives and questions


  • Help shape future coverage


  • Connect with others in your community


NC News Cafes will be happening across the state and are rooted in a shared goal: Strengthening trust, deepening relationships and building a more responsive local news ecosystem.


Outer Banks Insider organized the local news cafe in conjunction with NC Local. Other participating media outlets are Island Free Press, Milepost, Ocracoke Observer, SamWalkerOBXNews.com/The Sound 99.1, The Coastland Times and The Outer Banks Voice.
