KITTY HAWK — In this year’s municipal election for the Town of Kitty Hawk, two candidates are running for the contested mayor seat, while two other candidates are running unopposed for two open town council seats.
Gary Perry, 83, a former mayor, and Charlotte Deloatch Walker, 73, an incumbent town council member, each filed to run for mayor of Kitty Hawk. Current Mayor Craig Garriss, elected as mayor in 2021 and a town council member since 2013, is not seeking another term.
Incumbent Mayor Pro Tem Jeffrey “Jeff” Pruitt, 65, and political newcomer Peter “Pete” Mantz, 57, are running unopposed for town council.
