FRISCO — A Maryland woman was arrested Wednesday evening for attempted first-degree murder in Frisco.

Susan E. Myers, 65, of Catonsville, Maryland, was charged with felony attempted first-degree murder, felony assault with a deadly weapon/intent to kill/inflicting serious injury and misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon, according a Dare County Sheriff’s Office press release sent around noon Thursday.

“We’re still interviewing witnesses, but she was charged with striking one of the construction crew with her vehicle and leaving the scene,” Donnie Varnell, an investigator with the Dare County Sheriff’s Office, said in a phone interview Thursday.

Varnell said the injured person was part of a utility crew putting in concrete power poles, and he was unsure of the person’s current medical status.

Deputies responded to “an accident with unknown injury” in the 52700 block of N.C. 12 in Frisco at 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday, from which, a person was transported to the Outer Banks Hospital in Nags Head for injuries, according to the release.

Myers is currently being held at the Dare County Detention Center in lieu of a $75,000 bond, the release said.

The investigation, including interviews with witnesses, is ongoing, Varnell said.

Anyone with information related to any criminal activity is asked to contact the Dare County Sheriff's Office at 252-475-5980 or the Dare County Communications Center at 252-473-3444.
