MANTEO — Jackie Ray Price, 49, pleaded guilty to multiple felony secret peeping charges in Dare County Superior Court in Manteo on Oct. 28 and was released on a 24-month probation, court documents show.

Price pleaded guilty to five felony counts of secret peeping, according to District 1 District Attorney Jeff Cruden. If Price’s probation were revoked, he would face three consecutive six- to 17-month prison sentences.

Price had no prior criminal record, so for “someone with no prior record on a Class I felony, the judge has to, under our guidelines, give him probation,” Cruden said of Judge Andrew Womble’s sentencing in the case. “His hands were tied.”
