MANTEO — Dare County’s top two law enforcement officials are no longer retiring on Dec. 1, Sheriff John D. “Doug” Doughtie told Outer Banks Insider about two hours after a story ran about his and Chief Deputy Jeffrey “Jeff” Deringer’s planned retirements.
